Elysee Hayward of CTK netball club, and a Welsh under-17 netball international, was part of an outstanding squad performance to secure the silver medal place at the recent Netball Europe competition.

Held in Belfast last weekend, with an initial nail biting game against Scotland ending in a well earned draw 59-59, Wales next faced a sharp England squad who won 67-37.

However Wales regrouped and held their nerve against Northern Ireland, winning convincingly 46-37. Due to their superior goal difference compared to Scotland, Wales returned home silver medal holders.

In addition, Elysee’s individual brilliance was recognized when she was named player of the tournament.

It was a fantastic achievement and everyone at CTK, her home club, are extremely proud of not only her success, but also her hard work and dedication.

Elysee has played for CTK for eight years, at all age groups, and stepped into the adult world of netball aged only 13.

She is a regular member of CTK first team and plays for Cardiff High School and Cardiff and Vale County.

In 2014 Elysee was selected for Wales under-15s squad and has been in the under-17s squad for three seasons.

She is experienced beyond her years and has a bright future ahead of her, and we look forward to watching her progress through the Welsh performance pathway. Well done Elysee!
