Garden bags £2,000 funds from carrier tax

By Contributed Item in Local People

Barry Community Garden bagged £2,000 from a Tesco funding scheme to begin the process of bringing its woodwork project to life.

A four-week training programme is currently taking place at the garden, which is managed by Newydd Housing Association and owned by the Vale Council, to teach people how to build a range of products, including benches, planters and bird boxes, from pallets.

Working in partnership with Eggseeds, the course allows volunteers to sell some of the items to create income for the garden.
