Cowbridge Darts League round-up

By GEM Community Correspondent in Darts

ON Tuesday, March 14 a full programme of league matches was played.

The Edmondes C beat the Edmondes B 5-4; this is the second week running that the league leaders have been beaten.

The Highwayman Inn strengthened their hold on second slot, by beating the Hairy Farmers 6-3, helped by Llanharry defeating the Six Bells Inn 6-3.

However, it looks like Llanharry are now making a late challenge to also become contenders for second spot. The Victoria Inn beat the Red Lion 8-1 and the Edmondes A beat the Farmers Arms 5-4.

This week Noyle Burt became the second player from the Edmondes C to hit a 180 maximum score.

Other notable individual performances were; Rob McCaver (Hairy Farmers) winning a leg in 10 darts.

In fact Rob was very unlucky not to complete a 144 three dart out, hitting treble 18 with his first and second dart but his third dart was just on the wrong side of the double 18 wire. Maureen Fleming (Farmers Arms) had an 11 dart finish.

Present league standings, after 20 weeks, are: Edmondes B (126 points), Highwayman Inn (113), Six Bells Inn (110), Llanharry (102), Edmondes A and Edmondes C (96), Hairy Farmers and Victoria Inn (80), Farmers Arms (79) and Red Lion (18).

Next week (Tuesday, March 28) the first rounds of the men’s singles knock-out competition will be played; the host of this competition is the Llanharry Workingmen’s Club.

All matches start at 8.15pm and spectators are always welcome.
